Environmental Penalties For Those That Deserve It : "You Don't Do That To Us"

Wazzup Pilipinas !

"It is sad when politicians, media, and the church meddle on mining issues in a way that is not fair, consistent, and just. Further sad is when environmentalist groups become inconsistent as well on which mining issue they will speak up and criticize."

The statement above from this article related to Mining controversies was the most striking as we seem to really have plenty of "politics" involved in all the issues surrounding well-known companies or personalities.

In this day and age, you wouldn't really know who to trust and who to believe. Everyone has their own "dirty little secrets" like the dirt that we often hide under the carpet.

But then again, some will be sharing that these may be just black propaganda or a way of deflecting the issues that may be thrown against them. Its the best strategy to put the attention to someone else so you can get away with your own scams. EVEN TO THE POINT OF INVOLVING MEDIA TO SPREAD FALSE INFORMATION JUST TO GET EVEN OR CLAIM HIS TERRITORY.

And many are saying the other party is threatened of the competition so they're exerting all efforts to make the others look bad. If you are really good, then you don't need to spread rumors or blind items just to ruin the reputation of the people that may be identified with the issue. Either way, you are also hurting yourself since you are also part of the issue.

It was bound to happen : the bigger you get, the bigger your head grows.

"Gina Lopez spoke at the Visayas Blogging Summit on why people should take a stand on mining. However, nowhere in her talk did she discussed that their family was also into mining."

The Lopez group has their own energy company - EDC - located at their Leyte site.

What was noticeable is the lack of spotlight from government officialslocal Leyte government, and politicians giving their take on it in comparison to other similar incidents.

Are they getting special treatment?

Nobody really knows the straight facts because none of them could be convincingly accurate and full in the stories that they share. There will always be that "big fat lie" or "white lies" just to cover up their tracks....and become the talk of the town.

Maybe they are doing this because their ratings are getting low, their clients getting thin, or they couldn't sustain anymore their rank at the top. With the emerging competition that keeps getting stronger and bigger each day, they have a lot to worry. So the only thing to do is a demolition job against their competitors.

Let's just pray for them, and may the Lord above have mercy on their soul.

  1. There should be a balance between the mining environment and the intervention from the government.

  2. everybody should be responsible to what they do, and make sure that everything you do can help many people not just your self. Don't use these things to make your name popular.

  3. I agree to Myka Decano that there should be a balance between the mining environment and the intervention from the government since sila rin naman iyong naapektuhan.

  8. Has the press asked Gina about her opinion of the EDC disaster yet? I wonder what she has to say to the families of the 14 dead, on behalf of her family. This is the family that owned the company that WOULDN'T LET RESCUE WORKERS IN. So apparently she cares about ecosystems, but not human lives.

In a nutshell, it says that the ABS-CBN Foundation (WHICH GINA LOPEZ RUNS) "appropriated the La Mesa Ecopark operations as its own, denying the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS) its share in a 2001 concession signed between both and the local government of Quezon City." So there you have it. Turning a blind eye to the EDC disaster was an indicator of even blacker deeds. Now she's using an Ecopark to rip off the government. Since when did environmentalism get so dirty?

  20. By stealing ecopark money, at least she's keeping it in the realm of the environment. lol

  24. I thought the Lopezes cared about the environment. Guess they care about money more.

  25. Gina Lopez and the mining companies must be aware and responsible of what had happened to the poor people being used.
