Blackbeard's Seafood Island: Boodle Boodle To The Max

Wazzup Pilipinas !

Its not uncommon for Filipinos to share food especially during fiestas in the provinces. But if you apply the similar setup in the city and in a restaurant setting , then it becomes a  helluva boodle party!

Imagine a feast served on banana leaves - with all the rice in the middle and the viands, specific to a menu choice.

One even had the food (grilled fish, BBQ, shrimps, chicken, sea weeds, tomatoes and a lot of other stuff) on sticks, while the fried rice, fruits (watermelon slices and thick green mangoes shreds), and other viands like clams, crabs, tilapia, and "tahong" were surrounding the rice. What you see in the photo above is the Boracay's Feast.

Blackbeard's Seafood Island (The Pirates Lair) was huge enough for both indoor and outdoor gatherings. The Boodle feasts are the most unique meals that's great for a large group. You have the option to dine using  your hands or use the more modern way of eating - with a spoon and fork.

But there are several cases when you need to use your hands to eat that grilled chicken meat from its bones.

I think we had the Boracay boodle feast, and also the Dagupan's Pride boodle feasts.

You can check out the different Boodle Feasts below (just click on enlarge the Boodle Feast menu.

Let's take a look of the place. This one is the branch located at Lopez Drive in Quezon City. It's very near the ELJ Building and just right beside the Pinoy Big Brother house.

The "steering wheel" of a ship symbolizes traveling across seas, while the anchors mean you are ready to "park"  the ship for a while.

As expected from its name,. the decors are of a pirate theme which composed of a ship's steering wheel, anchors, compasses, and a lot of photos of ships sailing the seven seas.

If you are in a bit of trouble trying to remove your food from the two huge sticks, ask for help from the "crew".

There must be some bands performing at certain days at the restaurant  because there was a small area that looks like a stage where you could see a drum set and some microphones.

The boodle feast which I still need to verify if it was called Dagupan's Pride (Dagupan is a city located in the province of Pangasinan), had a "bagoong" flavored rice. ...and surrounding it are a few fried egg plants, okras, green mangoes, "tahong", fried bangus, shrimps and more.

If you want some good old fun eating time with friends, barkadas or colleagues, better try to experience the Boodle fight at Blackbeard's Seafood Island.

This is the second time I attended a Boodle Feast. The first time was at their Robinson's Galleria branch located in Ortigas Center, Pasig. The Boodle Feast never failed our expectations for most of the dishes included in the boodle feasts were terrific in taste. The only thing not tasty enough was the banana leaves.

Seriously, the restaurant is highly recommended to people who would like to go to a place to unwind, relax and enjoy the company of friends while dining on great Filipino food. The Boodle feasts are great for groups who would like to share meals.
