The Ritz Hotel: Anybody for Some Tea?

Wazzup Pilipinas!

I was invited to have tea at The Ritz London hotel with Mrs. Saunders and Mrs. Hersborg. It was my first day and my first event.

Still no sleep and just arrived in London 4 hours ago. Thanks to the cold water shower and lots of caffeine to keep me awake and going.

Overlooking London’s Green Park is the world-famous 5-star Ritz Hotel located in Piccadilly, London. This stunning Neoclassical building offers the height of opulence with luxurious bedrooms, exquisite British cuisine, and classic afternoon teas. It is best known for Louis XVI luxury, aristocratic tradition, chandeliers and champagne, Colonialism cornices and columns.

"Tea at The Ritz has to be the London equivalent of Breakfast at Tiffany's - a world-famous brand that captures the essence of each city's history and culture. Synonymous with the comfortable colonialism of the old British aristocracy, for Londoners afternoon tea at The Ritz conjures an image of luxury, indulgence, formality and impeccable service."

The Ritz Restaurant is decorated with fine art and looks out over the gardens. It uses the finest of ingredients in cuisine that is classically British with a modern twist. Rivoli Bar has an Art Deco style with gold leaf decoration. That afternoon tea at the Ritz was a shear indulgence that would be an unforgettable experience.

Detailed in delicate shades of gold, pale green and pale pink, the Palm Court, where afternoon tea is served, is an exemplar of soothing sophistication combined with lavish Louis XVI luxury. Lofty ceilings, glittering chandeliers, gilded trellises, marble columns, deep cornices and draped floral curtains all combine for a visual treat of the old Establishment.

Waiters, dressed immaculately in tails, serve up tea in fine bone china with exact precision while a pianist tinkles the ivories and a harpist plucks away in the background.

The privately owned Ritz recently completed a major refurbishment which has combined the most modern technology with traditional elegant surroundings. The 137 guest rooms have been completely renovated and redecorated to recapture their original splendor. Fabrics have been woven to order, and furniture restored or commissioned from England and France. All guest rooms offer dual voltage (110v and 240v) electricity, voice mail, ISDN line, and fax modems. Further improvements in the hotel include the addition of a fitness room, business bureau, and hairdressing salons.

Bedrooms at The London Ritz combine stunning period architecture and antique furnishings with modern amenities. Decorated in warm colours, they feature high ceilings, ornate fireplaces and chandeliers. Rooms are air-conditioned and feature iPod docks, Wi-Fi access and elegant bathrooms with designer toiletries.

The Ritz offers exceptional service and has 2 staff members for every guest. The Ritz Club Casino adjoins the hotel and many theatres of the West End are close by.

It hardly needs saying but dress smartly - a jacket and tie are essential for men. Early booking (as far in advance as six weeks for weekend sittings) is essential.

  1. I don't like spending usual things in an extravagant way. You could do these things without you spending too much for it and will be satisfied more than the satisfaction offered by these kinds of hotels. Being yourself is the best clothing you can wear.

  2. I don't need to spend a lot of money to satisfy my wants. Dining in this kind of restaurant is extravagant. I believe there are some people who will spend their money for this, but for me, I will not have any second thought of dining in here. I'll just go to a cheaper one but still, will satisfy me.

  3. I don't think it's necessary to dine at such a fancy restaurant. Sometimes it's just a way to show extravagance. Fine dining is okay but still, I would prefer a place less cheaper yet also classy, where I can be myself and not act all fancy, sosyal and stuff.

  4. I don't think that dining at a fancy restaurant is a practical thing. I think it's more of showing extravagance rather than the reason of satisfying your wants, cause these restaurants were all just the same, I guess the only difference is the way you act in such a fancy one. I would prefer a place cheaper yet could bring me as great as satisfaction offered by a fancy restaurant... :)

  5. One can enjoy anything in the most commonsensical way. I can say that all of us will enjoy to eat and spend their leisure time at such hotels and restaurant. Who will not? But seriously, I think that it is just a way of showing absurdity. We can enjoy life without spending too much. Instead of wasting money to have this firs-class experience, why don't we be practical to do spend our money on charity works rather than this.

  6. Yes I enjoy dining in a fancy restaurant or hotel. It was an experience where you get a chance to eat/taste dishes from other countries without the cost of traveling abroad. It is not a show of extravagance i may say, but to some people i assumed they just want to be seen at this places. you will notice them usually going around and having their pictures taken or showing off the dishes they ordered. I would choose the company i go to this places the best would be my parents a nice place to eat together in the ambiance love & unity

  7. Having a meal at a fancy restaurant/hotel is something we all want to experience, given the right resources and of course, proper timing. It should not be something though, that we should do on a regular basis, because I believe that the amount to be spent there can be used for other things such as saving for a rainy day.

I have been fortunate enough to experience going to a fancy place during my elementary graduation. Both the service and the food were exceptional. I guess the saying "you get what you pay for" in this context is true, probably because the standards of quality/excellence are higher given the international status and rules they need to follow, plus of course, the ranking and overall reputation of the place.

It would be extravagant to go to these places every month or just to keep up with the Joneses. But on special days after having adequately prepared for its cost months ahead, why not? The important thing is that you don't end up going into debt just because you want people to know that you've been there before.

  8. To experience eating in this kind of place is so cool. First, there are good foods and champagne, I really like those things. Second, you wear gaudy dress and high heels. And third, you might meet a millionaire man. Well, there will be a right time to have a meal in this place. And to those people who try to fit in this kind of atmosphere just really show extravagance.

  10. I have never dined in a hotel, and I never would. For me, spending your money in those isn't worth it. I'd rather get the satisfaction of dining in a fastfood chain, than lose my money in extravagance.

  11. I do enjoy dining at a fancy restaurant or hotel. It's totally worth it!It feels great. From the music to the lighting, to the art on the walls, the service, everything is perfect. I don't think it's a show of Extravagance. Why? We dine/eat there because we want to be relaxed and feel a different atmosphere. But, if you're like trying to fit in, that's the time when it will be just a show of Extravagance.

  12. I have never dined in a hotel before, so i don't know how it feels. I think, sometimes, it's not just a show extravagance. I mean, some people dine in fancy restaurants and hotel just to treat themselves for something they did successfully or maybe they're celebrating something special. But if there's no such things as special occasions, i think it would be better to dine in a simple fastfood chain, or at home than to spend money dining in an extravagant one.

  13. Dinning in a hotel is really a experience to remember. For me I have not dine in a hotel. too bad for me. But still as i have seen in movies, dining in a fancy hotel is fun. I don't think that it shows extravagance because we dine on those places to enjoy relax and take a break.

I didn't experienced dining at a fancy restaurant. I don't think spending so much or eating at sossy restaurants will make me happy. I'd rather eat at fast food chains or street foods. For me it's just a show of extravagance.

  15. I've never dined in a fancy restaurant or hotel before. I guess, spending too much money for dining is good but it’ll be nicer for me to banquet in a not-so-expensive restaurant. The reason for dining in an enormous restaurant is not always for extravagance because other people dine in an expensive restaurant because of treating themselves for doing something great or also, for experiencing something extravagant. :)

  16. I did enjoy dining at a fancy restaurant with the ear pleasing music that complements the place. Their food and kind of service was the best! It's not a show of extravagance unless if you keep on coming back just to show others that you can afford to go to that kind of luxurious accommodation.

  18. I am not a fan of luxurious things, not even dining in a fancy restaurant. I just like being somewhere simple but classy, somewhere it is wise to spend my time alone, or with my friends who are willing to come with me.
But I believe that to fancy dining in a lavish hotel is not bad, especially when you are the type of person who likes socializing in an elegant place. And I don't think that doing so always shows extravagance, not when people are just being who they are. :)

  19. Every time that I eat expensive food, I have a sudden little moment of guilt. Because sometimes in some restaurants, one dish may be equivalent to a poor family's whole meal for a day. I don't know but in the past years I've become much aware of other people living around me. It's not really bad to eat at fancy restaurants, it's not just showing extravagance as long as you enjoy it and can afford it.

  20. I really enjoy eating in a restaurant with my family. We spend for our leisure once in a blue moon but it totally worth it.
For me dinning or staying in a restaurant or staying in a hotel is not just a show of extravagance, but an experience that is worth the cost.

  22. Well, I haven't really tried dining at a fancy restaurant or hotel. But I think I will feel guilt after eating since one dish ma be equivalent to a poor family's whole meal for a day. Honestly, I don't really want eating at a fancy restaurant or hotel since it costs too much money. I don't think dining or staying in a restaurant or staying in a hotel is not just a show of extravagance, the experience you will get is the most important one. For me,it's better if you and your family will just eat together. That's it.

  23. It's too bad that I can't drink tea. I'm allergic. But I do enjoy fine dining at such fancy restaurants. It's a guilty pleasure for me, I admit. Of course, the experience was more splendid compared to dining at local restaurants. For me, it's not just showing off. If you can afford, why not! As long as you won't wash the dishes at the end of the day, it's fine! But in the end, I realized that I'd be happier to eat at McDonald's with matching Coffee Float!

  24. I really enjoy eating at fancy restaurants but i haven't eat in hotels. I think eating in fancy restaurants is a great experience for me you're not paying for the food itself but you're paying for the place. A place where you can relax. I think it is not a way of showing extravagance as long as you can afford it.

  25. I enjoy eating at fancy restaurants especially, if i'm with my loved ones. I think eating in a fancy restaurants is a very good experience where in leisure and bonding moments will surely be treasured. I think it is not a way of showing extravagance, just by the satisfactory of the given quality service and of course, the food itself worth a cost.

  26. Eating in a luxurious restaurant was never bad and never will be. Doing such isn't a show of extravagance or whatever, it shows that people still know how to unwind for a while and metaphorically stop the rotation of the world even just for a few hours. What isn't right with this is the mentality of some people using this event for bragging rights.

Who won't enjoy great food, beautiful ambience and lovely people?

  28. Yes, I enjoy going to an extravagant restaurant and hotel especially when a distant relatives are going to treat you there. I love the designs inside the restaurant, how wonderful or serene or vintage it looks, and of course the food, but sometimes i don’t like the taste of it. The only reason that I get to dine on a fancy restaurant is that it is free because someone is going to pay the bill.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I do enjoy dining at restaurants because I get a chance to give my mouth something new to chew. Delicious foods, good service and their relaxing ambiance made me enjoy my experience in dining in a fancy restaurant.
I consider eating on a restaurant as a treat to myself, and I don't often treat myself. So I somehow disagree that it is act of extravagance. It maybe an act of extravagance if it happens frequently.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I have tried dining in fancy places but this one is exceptional! I mean, if I were given a chance to spend a night of two in this hotel, I definitely would! Given the money, allowance, etc.

Who wouldn't enjoy dining in a fancy hotel or restaurant? Everybody would, of course! My experience is worth sharing to other people. I mean, there is an atmosphere of elegance, which I admire and enjoy. I get to live like of royal blood, and it feels comfortable and soothing in a mysterious way. So showing-off isn't really the point here. Yes, it is extravagant but what do people care about it? If the person has the money for such occasions then so be it. Everybody must live their life to the fullest, by the way.

However, this fancy dining must not be done always 'cause that is when it gets so extravagant.

  31. I tried eating in a fancy restaurant. I can't say that I didn't enjoy dining in a fancy restaurant. Its ambiance is very calm. Food was great. I don't think that fancy restaurants show extravagance.

  32. dining at a fancy restaurant is enjoyable but it mostly depends on the person with you,the event on that day and how presentable and the entertainment the restaurant have.
being at a fancy restaurant is not a sign of extravagance, as
long as it fits your budget and your happy with what you do, then go for it :)

  33. Of course I enjoy dining at fancy restaurants especially when i'm with my family.I always find their food and service very satisfactory. The money that we spend for these restaurants is really worth it.I think it is somehow a show of extravagance but I think that is the main purpose of fancy restaurants.

  34. yes, dining at a fancy restaurant is bouyant and fortunate because for a girl like me, i can easily appreciate how beautiful the place is and how special am i when i enter that place.
no, dining at a fancy restaurant is not sign of extravagance, as long as were happy about it and we do not interfere with other peoples life hten w e should go for it

  35. for me, i do not enjoy eating at a fancy restaurants. why, because i can easily enjoy whatever food was on the table, and no matter how delicious and tasty the food was, the money it counts.
no, dining in a fancy restaurant is not a sign of extravagance, as long as they are happy then i dont care.

  36. I don't know how you classify a fancy restaurant, but yes I have tried dining in some restaurants which I myself find classy. The eating experience was a great one. I would love to come back and eat there again but it was quite expensive so I guess it'll take some time before we can afford to dine there for another round of great food. Yes, somehow depending on the type of food you will eat. But nonetheless, as long as it satisfies your stomach and spirit, it will also serve justice to your wallets. After all, there's no point in keeping so much money, sometimes you'll need to spend too, it's not only for yourself but also to maintain the equilibrium in the flow of money in our economy.

  37. for me, it doesn't matter where you're eating or were you are going. it's who i am with. anything could be something as long as you're happy with who you're with. dining at a fancy restaurant or a hotel is something we do during reunions and different occasions. it's a fun experience, especially when it's free. it is not a show of extravagance because people go there because they want to, not because they want to brag or anything.

  38. They say that eating a expensive food is a sign of Gluttony and Gluttony is sin so I consider this a bad thing. I really don’t like to travel but when I do I look forward to it and making it woth it. I expeienced to go to many restaurant here in the Philippines. I often go to fancy restaurant because I really don’t have that money to afford one. I once go to one of this but I really don’t enjoy this because I’m really not in to that kind of environment. I appreciate the ambiance of that place and the food but If your practical you will probably not enjoy it.
I can’t say that this is extravaganc because it’s hard to classify the restaurant wheter it is fancy or not as long as you will fead your stomach and to have experience.

  39. Yes, I really enjoy dining at a fancy restaurant or hotel just like this. Their service, their foods, music was the best. I think it just shows extravagance when you always keep on having fancy dinners with no reasons or occasions. I prefer to eat on cheaper restaurants which can also satisfy me in a different way.

  40. I don't regret eating in expensive restaurants. It was very fun and the foods are all delicious.Yes,it's expensive but it's all worth it.It's not shoeing extravagant, we are enjoying and tasting the beauty of life.

  41. Food at its best, service and grandeur along with it. Precious restaurants and hotels are required to serve their customers with it. Of course, all of us will enjoy a taste of luxury. The taste of classy gourmets, sweet sirens of music, and the unbelievable quality of service will be experienced at a cost of a high price. Maybe rich people will afford to hang out with these things, but for me, I am not satisfied that I am going to spend much of my money for just a short term happiness. Eating at places like this, only shows that you can afford it and you can boast to the world that luxury is in your hands. I would rather prefer being at simple places, and satisfying what I only need. Still, its a matter of choice, it is just that in my opinion, eating at these is too much.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I chose hotels because they serve their customers the way they should be treated and served and it also depends on what kind of hotel it is. I don't think this shows extravagance because this is what you want and others shouldn't mind it because it is your money you are wasting and it is not theirs so they shouldn't bother.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Enjoying and knowing what to do in a restaurant is important. But what matters most is the service of the hotel/restaurant people to their customers. What is a restaurant/hotel that doesn't give their utmost service to the customers? Whenever my family goes to eat in a fancy restaurant, to the most I can, I enjoy my food! It depends on how a person wants to see it if they just want to show extravagance or they just want to experience how is it like to be treated as prince or princess, royalty more or less.

    ReplyDelete
  44. To be honest, I really love dining at fancy restaurants and hotels IF they are really good. Aside from the condition of the establishments, I kind of really get picky, especially when it comes to the 'correct' taste, the 'clean' smell, and most importantly, the cleanliness. You see, I actually get discouraged easily when it comes to eating in some places (because the places that seem run down I already have no business with; by 'some places' I mean the ones that I go to). Well, of course, I weigh the price with the quality and quantity of service and goods. It's important to use the things you've learned in school in real life. It's not really a show of extravagance, depending on the quality and quantity of the food. However much you say that it is a sin (gluttony), it's unavoidable for us to pick that which tastes good (we each have our own standards for good). If the place really is not good and there are better alternatives and the place asks for fees that are unreasonable with the given services and goods, then that is what you call extravagance. Even though some people say that buying coffee from Starbucks is just a show of extravagance, I actually like the taste of the only product that I buy (I only buy the Chocolate Chip Cream as it really does taste nice compared to the other flavors), and if I find a different establishment that offers the same quality of service and goods then I will buy from that different establishment; however, most of those that do exist have only a few branches compared to the amount of that of Starbucks.

  45. to be honest with you guys, dining in such a fancy and luxurious restaurant is such a waste of time.. it's awkward. I find it awkward. I don't appreciate those things. I just want simple places where I can enjoy. And for me, it is not only a waste of time but a waste of money. Yes, maybe it sounds interesting and elegant but for what?.. I will be more contented in simple things. :)

  46. Glamour and wealth aren't the only bases of one's status on life. I have learned this since I was a kid.

I had been in a fancy restaurant and hotel a couple of times since my parents/relatives would celebrate their birthdays there. I actually enjoy being in such places, though formality still takes place. You get to eat exotic and delicately-made foods from different parts of the world, a comfortable couch or stool, and the classical music across the hall.

We had tackled this in our English subject, specifically Dante Alighieri's "Divine Comedy". That eating or pampering yourselves with expensive things is a sin. I guess it becomes a sin if you make it a habit, but for annual occasions, its not something to be considered immoral.

  47. In my own view, it's just a waste of money and time to have a dinner in such a fancy restaurant. Buying tea for just around 20 bucks and drinking it within 10 seconds, it's not worth it. I'd rather go to "eat all you can" restaurant than this luxurious restaurant. I don't get the point in eating and drinking there in a fancy restaurant. I know, it makes you feel superior to other people, but the foods and drinks can satisfy your hunger, especially you ate a lot ? (: Who wants to go with me, Chicboy restaurant. Hehe.

  48. As per my own thoughts, being in fancy + elite places like hotels and residential beach resorts Is Not A Show of Extravagance. IT DEPENDS ON PEOPLE'S WAY OF LIFE. If they were raised in a simple household, then there's a huge possibility that they might find it unnecessary or a "waste of time" because they don't appreciate it, But That's Just Okay.

Fine dining and cruising isn't purposely done to show off people's wealth. It's a way of acquiring tranquility and happiness. Yes, it's a material happiness but everybody is materialistic, not VERY materialistic. We need to indulge and pamper ourselves every once in a while and Some People Really Choose To Do It This Way. Through all these things I've said, I still have in mind that too much of everything is not good. So I know when to detach myself from the diamond life.

In the end, what matters most is the genuine felicity that certain people get from the ostentatious world.

  49. I enjoy dining at a fancy restaurant especially when I'm with my friends/family. The food, the service and the music will surely make the customers relax. I don't think that its a show of extravagance.

  50. Anyone would enjoy this very extravagant place. Having the opportunity to sit in those sparkling seats, just to take a sip in their tea is a moment that not everyone can experience. It's so nice to feel that your one of the noble class. I've watched this kind of setting in an anime and it's so cool. Honestly, I am not quite into this fancy stuff. A simple meal shall satisfy me. I am quite contented but if I may be given a chance, I would like to be a noble someday. Haha! :)

As for me, I don't think that everyone who go here doesn't really just to show-off their extravagance. May be they just go there because they can and they want to. Although going there makes you look kinda extravagant but I don't have a shallow mind to think that people go there to show-off only. :)

  51. All of us want to eat at a fancy restaurant, but of course let's consider the class of people in the society. Me, I enjoy eating even not in a fancy restaurant or hotel, just in a fast food, it's enough. "basta busog". That's it

  52. Customer Service is one quality that we people look for restaurants. I do not enjoy dining in a fancy hotel. Even if the food is good, service is good, the main point is that, why do you need to eat luxurious food if you can just stay at home, cook some healthy foods, enjoy it with your family, share it with your neighbors, and laugh heartily with them? I will choose homemade cooking rather than food from the restaurant. And I agree that it is just a show of extravagance.

  53. Having the chance to eat in a high-class restaurant is one of a kind! Having this opportunity doesn't really show-off being extravagant. Their just grabbing the 'chance' not anyone can have. Even though people with high status in life can eat there, they didn't really intend to be interpreted that way. I think we should be open-minded and accept the fact that 'fancy-life' doesn't mean discrimination or inequality all the time.

  54. Call me anything you want , but I don't really enjoy dining at a fancy restaurant , no matter how fancy it may be.

It's really a bad experience , well I mean most of us Filipinos are not accustomed with such ambiance that most of the fancy restaurants offer these days. Movements of one individual is also very limited since proper etiquette is always observed , to which we are we not adapted to.

Yes I think it's just a show of extravagance, embracing its meaning as "costing to much money", wherein we could just spend our money to other fast food chain in which we would benefit a lot compared to those fafancy restaurants.

  55. I've never been to any kind of extravagant hotel or restaurant but if I were to be given a chance go to a place like the Ritz Hotel for free then I would grab the opportunity right away. I wouldn't even think of spending so much money on a hotel, if you could save up more money then why shouldn't you? Using your money for trivial and not so long lasting things like a night at a 5 star hotel is not ideal for me especially when you could just settle with a simpler place. Going to places like the Ritz Hotel may show some extravagance but it depends on the person if they really want it and if they are prepared to empty their wallets just for the sake of experiencing a night at that hotel.

  56. Gluttony !!! That word came first to my mind when I read this because as what our english teacher said "eating too expensively is gluttony". And also I am against in eating too expensive because it's not worthy to spend too much for just a tea and in the end it will not satisfy your hunger.

  57. I believe fancy dining were done by the people who admits that they are in the hierarchy of the society. Especially those who do this often. But let's accept the fact, ladies and gentlemen, that there is NO ABSOLUTE EQUALITY. There is always a Caste System in every society. And we can't do anything with that. That is so inevitable.

Actually I eat at fancy restaurants when my relatives celebrate something. That's why I've learned a fine dining. And for me, fine dining should be learned by everybody. It's like a form of respect, for me.

  58. Well I enjoy dining in fancy places. I feel very prestiged and extravagant. Hey, if the food is good, I don't think it's all just for show.

  59. Money. Its involved with everything, which is why you can never have enough of it. This is a belief that I really believe in because it’s actually true. Now, in general, money isn’t necessarily needed to survive but in the world that we live in today it really is. However, the big issue isn’t what costs money its how people spend their money.

Sometimes people earn a lot of money at one time and think that it will last them for the rest of their life, or the rest of the year. At these times we forget what is important and go on a massive spending spree. Before you know it, you’ve spent all your money and realize you still need more.

"Too much of everything is bad", too much spending and spending unwisely for nothing is a waste. Eating in a fancy restaurant and wasting your money shows prodigality, why do we want to eat in a fancy restaurant if there is an affordable restaurant. We people, always want to boast and to show extravagance which in the end it is us who is suffering. "Think twice before you spend too much" :)))

    ReplyDelete
  60. I haven't been inside a fancy restaurant. Yes, it does show extravagance. It is worth it to pay too much money to a food that will make you taste its exoticness. It's not the money that counts, it's the experience.

  61. I had never experienced dining at fancy places so I couldn't tell if it's enjoyable or not. If you have enough money to eat at those fancy restaurants, why not? If you are on the elite group and your family want to go and dine there, why not? If you do have the enough money to spend and you know yourself that you still have money to spend to other things, why would it be just a show of extravagance? These fancy restaurants and hotels are not built just to stand where it is built.

  64. It is really enjoying to dine at fancy restaurants. But I don't think that it is necessary to do so. I think, being extravagant depends upon the person.
Nowadays, we should be practical. We should not waste our money and time dining at fancy restaurants. Even though it is lovely to do that, I'd rather choose to eat at normal restaurants. We should always stay simple and humble all the time. Extravagance doesn't really matters to me.

I think you don't have to experience it everyday but to have experienced it, its worth-keeping. I don't think it's just a show of extravagance, because for me to treat yourself is one way of loving yourself and to enjoy what you can have and be contented it doesn't matter how much it worth / it doesn't have to be so expensive but as long as you enjoyed, the experience is worth it all.

  66. Fine Dining is great but a modest sharing of food with your family and friends will always be better. I haven't been into a 5 star hotel. 5 star hotels, for me, are synonymous to haunted houses. I always feared to get into a hotel.

But what I like about hotels is that, even though I haven't experienced what happens inside, is that they don't just expose the glamor part of the place. It also exposes the culture. A great example is the Ritz Hotel, the main focus of the author's article

  67. I am fond of dining in extravagant places and eating savory foods. I have tried to go to a five-star hotel before but I must say this place is so fancy and fabulous. We just deserve to go in such places, first is for relaxation, nothing can rejuvenate your powers that a nice view of the scenery, secondly, is to give you self a reward, and third, for satisfaction.

  68. I have not experienced eating in a fancy restaurant yet. Well, based on my imagination, I can say that dinner will be fun. For me, eating in these restaurants is reasonable during occassions, but for an ordinary day? This costs too much and this time, I can say it's extravagant. >:D

  70. I still prefer eating in a normal restaurant or fast food chains. Yet it is still good to go to such places once in a while. Well, I guess everything went well when I ate. Haha. Umm, I think it really depends whether it's a show of extravagance or not. Some really prefer it while some not.

  71. "Anyone can cook" Yes. I once enjoyed fine dining in a fancy restaurant/hotel. It was better than i really expected. With good quality of food, services and the comfort room is clean! But the whole point of having lunch or dinner outside your house is the bonding with family and friends. Enjoying one thing together as one.

My point is that you can just stay at home cook something fancy or "sosyal" ,in filipino term, share stories with the whole family, have a great time and ENJOY the company around you.

Extravagance is spending more than what you need. I definitely agree that eating with "Fine Dining" is just a show of extravagance but the good side is that it satisfies more than what you need.

  72. I think i have tried eating at a fancy restaurant but i don't really remember too much. The experience was great, the food, the relaxing atmosphere and the people around you. I can say that eating in such fancy restaurants can cost much but i think its alright if its occasionally. I don't think that its just a show of extravagance but its how they perceive what their restaurants or hotels should look like. Its not extravagance for me but it is an art. :D

  73. The experience was indescribable. The atmosphere of the place will be remembered plus the foods served there will be always remembered. All those luxurious things around really affects what i feel that time :) It may show extravagance but, isn't it great to feel such treatment even for a day? I really can't put words to describe how classy it is :)

  74. Even though dining in an expens ive fine dining restaurant is an unforgetable experience , still, dining in such places is just a waste of money. Based also in my experience after eating and complementing the food, I felt regretful why we ate at that restaurant because of the amount of money that we paid.

  75. It's ok to dine in a fancy restaurants and hotels occasionally. We can't deny the fact that the food is really good, really high class. The ambiance is different. The cost of food is really high too. But come to think of it, why would you dine in to such places when there are cheaper ones, yet satisfactory? It indeed shows extravagance but still, we want to experience great things once in our lives. But we should be wise to choose when or when not to eat in these kinds of restaurants.

  76. Who would not enjoy dining at such extravagant 5-star hotel? We can't really help but enjoy living wearing crowns once in a while, but i dont think it's just a show of extravagance. Yes for some they may look at it that way but there's other purposes for this so-called extravagance. But has it not occurred to you that they just wanted to serve us and make us feel like kings and queens? What I'm pointing out is that people have their own reasons for doing such things :)

  77. who would not have a great experience dinning at a fancy restaurant? of course all the expense are worth it.
I think dinning at a fancy restaurant is not a show of extravagance it's having your relaxation time and is a reward for all the hard works you exerted and to feel a wealthy life were everything is served even in a single of time only.

  78. Who wouldn't enjoy dining at a fancy restaurant? With the service, the food, the music, and the relaxing atmosphere, it is definitely a great experience. I would definitely disagree that it's just a show of extravagance. I know that some people would just like to indulge themselves with this kind of things "every once in a while" in order for them to get happiness.

  79. Well everyone would enjoy dining in a fancy 5-star hotel restaurant like the Ritz Hotel in London. But i wouldn't spend a large amount of money just for that because im not fond of spending money for just a luxurious exquisite food. If I would have a lot of money then i will dine their. This hotel do not show just extravagance and luxury but it is essential for human to have their wants for a little while for indulgent and satisfaction they lack off. So if i had a chance to go they i will definitely go. BETTER LATE THAN NEVER!!!
