Another part of my trip to London is a visit to the official residence of her majesty the Queen.
Buckingham Palace has served as the official London residence of Britain's sovereigns since 1837 and today is the administrative headquarters of the Monarch. It is where The Queen carries out her official and ceremonial duties as Head of State of the United Kingdom and Head of the Commonwealth.
Originally known as Buckingham House, it is a symbol and home of the British monarchy, an art gallery and tourist attraction. Behind the gilded railings and gates which were made by the Bromsgrove Guild and Webb's famous façade which has been described in a book published by the Royal Collection as looking "like everybody's idea of a palace"; is not only the weekday home of the Queen and Prince Philip but also the London residence of the Duke of York and the Earl and Countess of Wessex.
The palace also houses the offices of the Royal Household and is the workplace of 450 people.
Although in use for the many official events and receptions held by The Queen, the State Rooms at Buckingham Palace are open to visitors every year.
The Palace is very much a working building and the centrepiece of
Britain's constitutional monarchy. It houses the offices of those who
support the day-to-day activities and duties of The Queen and The Duke
of Edinburgh and their immediate family.
The Victoria Memorial was created by sculptor Sir Thomas Brock in 1911 and erected in front of the main gates at Buckingham Palace on a surround constructed by architect Sir Aston Webb
The highpoint of royal entertaining at Buckingham Palace today is the State Banquet, given by The Queen in the Ballroom on the evening of the first day of a State Visit of a foreign Head of State to the United Kingdom. The Ballroom is specially decorated for the occasion with flowers from the royal gardens and plate and porcelain from the Royal Collection.
At the rear of the palace, is the large and park-like garden which, together with its lake, is the largest private garden in London. Here the Queen hosts her annual garden parties each summer, and also holds large functions to celebrate royal milestones, such as jubilees. It covers 40 acres (16 ha), and includes a helicopter landing area, a lake, and a tennis court.

Monarchy vs. Democracy.
ReplyDeleteFor me, it would be better if the Philippines will have monarchy as its form of government. I'm not saying that the privileges given to us Filipinos having Democracy as our kind of government do not deserve other people it's just that, if we'll have one person with the highest position that will manage the whole country even without consulting the wants of its people rather than having many people in deciding and arguing about these things, laws, justice and the progression of the country would be a lot easier.
I don't think our country would be better if we were to have a "Kings and Queens" monarchy. I don't see Philippines our country having a king and queen seated in the throne. Also, it wouldn't give opportunities to other people that have a good characteristics as a leader. Other countries that have this kind of setup are Egypt, Germany, Greece, Russia and many more.
ReplyDeleteI'm not into "Kings & Queens". I'm satisfied with our country having a democratic government. I'd still prefer a free country. It's just that Filipinos need to be mature, smart and disciplined for the country to be better. Monarchy isn't necessary, what's necessary is responsibility.
ReplyDeleteI don't think Philippines would be better if monarchy will run the government, and I don't even want to experience that even for a year. It's just that, I like the concept of democracy, for the voice of the people are heard, aside from that, more Filipinos are given equal chances to govern our country as long as they are responsible enough to take over not just one, but millions of people. Brunei, Oman, Saudi Arabia and Vatican City have Monarchy as their government system
ReplyDeleteOur country is not into this kind of system and I think that it will never be ready for this political practice. It is just a matter of choosing the leaders who will be in power of our country. We just have to be smart enough and be disciplined members of our nation. For me, Philippines will be perpetually a democratic country compared to those who embraced the monarchy system like New Zealand, The United Kingdom and among others who don't have the freedom to choose who their authorities will be.
ReplyDeleteNever the Philippines will survive in a monarchy system. The country would just revert back to the feudal form. Before asking that question who do you think amongst the billion of pinoys would qualified to be crown as king and queen. more than 80% pinoys have mixed blood due to the 3 century under spanish colonials, almost 3 years under japanese conquerors and decades under american rule. it's still better with the existing form of government people power i would say!
ReplyDeleteI don't think it would do our country any good to follow the monarchy system, as it is already bad enough that we have political dynasties holding various positions in the government. The problem under the monarchy system is of course, because of mere descent/blood line, they take over as rulers without consideration for experience, proper education, work qualifications, etc. There is no guarantee that they will succeed or be the best ones to run a country. The same is also happening under political dynasties where by the mere recall of surname, we somehow seem to think that they can be as good as their ancestors.
ReplyDeleteOf course, in the United Kingdom, Sweden, and Spain, the monarch is there for ceremonial purposes as part of their heritage but their participation in the actual government is little to none. Those who have an Executive or active participation in the government and state affairs would be countries like Monaco, Morocco, and Kuwait.

ReplyDeleteWe should not follow the monarchy system. For me this kind of system has racism. They only allow royal blood to be the leader. What if that person is not worthy to be a ruler? what will happen to that country? Democratic system is enough to our country for Ninoy died for our democracy.
ReplyDeleteThere are more than one type of monarchy. Like the constitutional monarchy - with a full system of government in place as well as a king or queen which the monarch is pretty much a figure head. Countries run by this type of monarchy are: Andorra, Antigua and Barbuda.
Someday,I'll go to this place.
thanks to the author, he's one of the witnesses that the palace is truly amazing.
Several countries like Holland, Sweden and Denmark are engaged under the monarchy system. Meaning, their country is under the power of a king and queen, and their future depends on their successors.
ReplyDeleteAs for the Philippines, I don't think that having the monarchy system here is a good idea, seeing as the system we have now have already implemented a "monarchy system" of their own, and it's not doing any good. In choosing a leader, we should take into consideration the knowledge, the experience, and other qualifications that will ensure our country a good future ahead. A leader chosen because of his ancestry couldn't guarantee us anything but his name. I'd rather choose the government system we have now, than be stuck in a government of lineage.
Monarchy is a form of government where the King, Queen, or ruler basically decide everything for the people. While Democracy is a form of government where the people have much more freedom and the right to choose and vote on things affiliated with government. I don't think it would be better having "Kings & Queens" in our country. I still prefer Democracy, the power to govern is carried out by the people. While in Monarchy, supreme power is given to an individual. In Democracy, all is equal before the law while in Monarchy, the monarch is the law. Some of the countries that is under Monarchy are: Denmark, Grenada, Spain, Great Britain, Monaco, Belgium.
ReplyDeleteThe Philippines is a democratic country and I think it would be better than a setup of "Kings and Queens" monarchy. The people's voice would be heard in a democratic country for it is a government where the people has more freedom and the right to vote for things concerning the government. All would be equal, and the government, together with the people, would work for the benefit of all.
ReplyDeleteI think our country is one of a king for having democratic rather than having a monarchy. I like it more democratic cause the voices of the people will be heard and I love being a free citizen of this country, my country PHILIPPINES other than other countries like Denmark, Belgium, Monaco and etc. who runs monarchy.
ReplyDeleteKings and Queens are good but for our country, for me it is not a good idea because our country is used in a democratic Government not a monarchy. Monarchy is giving the power to an individual, as i have remembered during martial law the power belongs to an individual and it cost a lot of lives. Democracy is a form of Government that gives the power to the people not to an individual. Some countries that have the same set up are mostly countries in Europe like Spain, Great Britain and many more.
ReplyDeleteHeavens, no! There is no way the Philippines will be better in a monarchical government. If this happens, people with potentials on ruling this country will not be recognized. There will be no progress in the Philippines if we use this type of government. United Kingdom, Vatican City, Sweden, Solomon Islands are some of the countries that uses the "Kings and Queens" monarchy.
ReplyDeleteMonarchy is a form of a government that has its King and Queen which makes decisions for all the countrymen. I think, monarchy is not meant for the Philippines because monarchy allows only the rulers to decide alone while the system of our government lets us have the right to vote or choose what we want for our own country. Also, the next ruler for a country having this system was the child of the present ruler, but what if their child does not have the passion to rule?
ReplyDeleteSo for me, the present system of our government must be sustained. According to my studies, countries having this form of government include Kuwait, Denmark, and Monaco etc.
No, I don't think that the Phillipines should be under a Monarchy system because we would probably be more updated to the young Prince's lovelife rather than the flaws of the government itself. Nah, just kidding. I enjoy the freedom our democratic government is giving me and ai cannot wait to vote! So why should I opt to dynasties?
ReplyDeleteThe present countries with a monarch system today are Monaco, United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia? and more.
When I was still young, I used to play role playing, imagining I am living in a castle with a king and a queen (and I am the princess, haha) but as a grown up from a democratic country, Philippines, I honestly believe that it would be better for our country to continue the democratic setup. It is because I am already contented and happy being in a country which gives me enough freedom and prerogatives.
ReplyDeleteOther countries like Denmark,Germany and Egypt are examples of the countries ruled by a king and queen :)
I think that being a democratic country will help us continue our great living, because monarchy is easy attain but hard to maintain the order, because in our country which is an archipelago, the communication and distribution of power is not proper. but if we have democratic country, there are people leading a specific group that is part of the country.
ReplyDeletethere are also countries that is led by a queen or king like Japan, Cambodia, and Australia.
I don't think Philippines will be better if it'll have similar set-up of 'Kings and Queens' monarchy. It will just prevent other people to have an opportunity to run our country.
ReplyDeleteDenmark,Germany and Egypt are some example of the countries that have the same set-up.
Having this "Kings and Queens" here in our country would not change the status of our lives here. Democracy is still what our country is in favor. If there is no Democracy and we would just follow "Kings and Queens", there would be no equal distribution of power, they would just depend on Kings and Queens. There are also countries that is led by a queen or king like Japan,Egypt,Germany, Cambodia and Australia.
ReplyDeleteBeing an archipelago, Monarchy type of government won't function well. In a monarchy government the absolute power is within the King and Queen and the royal family. with an archipelago it is hard to reach out for every citizen because for me the king and queen won't spend time reaching out all the citizens personally so democratic type of government is still better. here are also countries that is led by a queen or king like Norway, Papua new guinea, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Solomon islands, Spain.
ReplyDeleteI seriously want to go to the past to see how things go for the people living in palaces, how it feels to be around royalties and have tons of knights surrounding you. Like the ones you read on fairytales. Anyway, I'm already happy with the type of government the Philippines have. I'm contented having Mr. Benigno Aquino as our president and I wouldn't ask for more. I'm contented of seeing Ms. Kris Aquino as a presidential sister only and not as The Royal Princess (just sayin'). Haha. Anyway, there are still countries that has this type of government, I mean having the king. Dubai has its king, Malaysia too.
ReplyDeleteYes, it would be really amusing to see a beautiful, serene, majestic, and wonderful castle built on the edge of a cliff, living in it are the king and queen with their handsome young prince. I mean, it is really nice but I wouldn't suggest on having a monarchy system in our country. I am certain that it would be healthier for our country to have a democratic government. Being on a democratic country means that people have the sole power and that is what I like about it. According to Google, countries run by this type of monarchy are: New Zealand, Norway, Solomon Islands, Spain, Sweden, Thailand, Tonga, Tuvalu, United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom and Vatican City.
ReplyDeleteDemocracy is best for a country like ours. Changing the system would take years and will just be ridiculous. Though having monarchy is pretty and everything, but it's just not suitable for our country.
ReplyDeleteBrunei, Qatar and Sweden are countries run by monarchical system.
I will not agree making our country having a similar setup of "kings and queens". People will still have the urge for power. And having only a royal family ruling over the country would be unequal. Countries such as New Zealand,Spain, United Kingdom, Vatican city and many more are countries under the rule of Kings and Queens.
ReplyDeleteI think monarchy will not work on our country.Judging by the filipinos' attitude, they won't obey the leaders if we have a monarchical government.Democracy is suited best for the Philippines. Some countries that have the same system are Swaziland,Bhutan and Morocco.
ReplyDeleteIf Monarchy was started a long, long time ago, I think this would work. I mean, it would be cool for the Filipinos. Yes, democracy is better because we're free. But I am open for this kind of possibility, for this system of governance.
ReplyDeleteI imagine Filipinos looking up to their country's symbol, the king and the queen. With these symbols who represent the country, the people will have a huge respect and loyalty to the Philippine government. However, if monarchy would be followed, constitutional is better. There are people aside from the King and Queen, who will rule the country.
But in the modern world, democracy is still the best.
Other countries like New Zealand, Brunei, Norway, Solomon Islands, Spain, Sweden, Thailand, Tonga, Tuvalu, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom and Vatican City employ the monarchial system.
no, if the Philippines would change its way of governing their citizen, it would make the life of every Filipino citizen a lot more complicated. why?, because we cannot change the decision of what the monarchs have, and according to the history most of the monarchs come up with a poor decision making.
ReplyDeleteour country should be contented on what government we have, we just need to improve it and with that, the prosperity and triumph will naturally chase us
some country like england, brunei and britain have monarchy constitution
no, the philippines have the capacity to improve itself with its own type of government.
ReplyDeleteand the country like england, brunei at britain, norway,UK and vatican has amonarchy constitution. :)
I think if Philippines was started with monarchy system, it would be good as what other countries have. But as for the situation right now, Democracy would be the best choice for us to solve the countries problem and even the people. But since Philippines was started with democratic government, It's much better if we just continue what we have. Other Countries which are compromise with this monarchy system like Brunei, UAE, Qatar, Thailand and United Kingdom.
ReplyDeletei just can't imagine the Philippines having Kings and queens. honestly, it's not fit for a country like ours. what we have right now is fine. there's no need to change. could you imagine Noynoy Aquino being the king? it's just a very funny thought.
ReplyDeleteOther countries like New Zealand, Brunei, Norway, Solomon Islands, Spain, Sweden, Thailand, Tonga, Tuvalu, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom and Vatican City employ the monarchial system.
These "Kings and Queens" no longer have the place in the Philippines. Our history has been focused on the battles of our ancestors against the oppressors and seek freedom and equality among men. And they did succeed in freeing the country from the hands of the tyrants. And seemingly the Filipino people is also enjoying the freedom that democracy had provided us. I guess we'll just have to stick to it until the needs of change arises. Aside from England, other sovereign monarchies include Bahrain, Brunei, Cambodia, Denmark, Japan, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, and Spain.
ReplyDeleteDemocracy is a a form of government in which the supreme power is vested in the people and exercised directly by them or by their elected agents under a free electoral system. I think that this type of government shows equality no one forward than the other so I think that this is the best form of government to have. I disagreee that the Philippines will shift from Democracy to Monarchy because we are now attaining economic progress by this type of government. Shifting our government will not result in economic progress but chaos. No matter what type of government we have as long as the leader is the most excellent we can experience economic progress. Because Economic Progress is every country’s dream.
ReplyDeleteI know some of the country who have Monarchy as a type of government are Japan, Thailand, New Zealand, Norway, Spain and especially United Kingdom.
I don't think the Philippines will be better if we will have the "Kings and Queens" monarchy system. I like democracy more. It's because we have the freedom. But I think, it is not with the system we have. I think it's with the way a leader can lead his/her country. Having discipline is really what a country needs. Other countries that have that similar setup are United Kingdom, Malaysia, Norway, Netherlands, Japan, Cambodia, and etc...
ReplyDeleteThe Philippines is a democratic country and will never be in a monarchy system. We Filipinos are contented and enjoying our democracy and freedom because of our system.Other countries that have the same set up are UK, Norway, Malaysia,Cambodia, Bhutan and many more.
ReplyDeleteKings and Queens are great! Having them shows power over the people they reign, it is great for their Country why would it not be good with us? We already experienced it with Martial Law. Ferdinand is the King while his wife Mrs. Imelda as his Queen. It made our country progress even better! Our economy faced huge signs of development. I can freely say this because with the number of our population, using Democracy makes things worsen. Look at it, one person needs to listen to hundred million worth of opinions! While if we are in a Monarchy type of government, only one brain will work to develop the whole place, the rest of the population should just follow. And if using monarchy, all the country need is one leader that best suits the power and will not misuse it.
ReplyDeleteI don't think having a monarchy system will make our country at its best maybe because Philippines is a democratic country and our ancestors fought for our independence. Also, having a monarchy system will not give chance to others to rule our country because the throne is inherited by birth and the ruler will only be changed if he/she died or abdicated. Countries like Bahrain, Cambodia, Denmark, Kuwait, Spain and Thailand have a monarchy system constitutionally.
ReplyDeleteI think continuing to be a democratic country would be better. Who would want to have their right to decide for their country to be taken away (let's just exclude those who are using the system of monarchy)? Unless you do not want independence. Anyway some countries having the same system are Cambodia, Denmark, and Kuwait etc.
ReplyDeleteI still believe that without the people, there will be no Leader of the country. The President was a member of the people before, and still is.
Democractic country is still the best way to make our country reach its highest peak. Because we know and we can still fight for our independence. What would it be if there will be king and queen ? Will still be there peace because we know that Filipinos have absolute freedom and they can do what they want. Having a monarchy system will just alter the system.
ReplyDeleteHail, a rain of ice. No, that was just a joke. Well, I'm not criticizing anything nor the use of hail. I just remembered the "Heil!" version. Anyway, if the Philippines were some kind of monarchy and we do "Hail to the queen" well isn't it somehow kind of funny? Because, I actually think that the people would rather have a democratic country with a president rather than some kind of monarchy. I mean, it's not because of the form of the government that the Philippines kind of progresses slowly in some terms, and sometimes slow growth is nice. Anyway, you see, it's going to be a pain if the Philippines were to have "Kings & Queens" instead. In the first place, wasn't it that there was never the existence of monarchy in our country since the dawn of time (however much it's exaggerated, there isn't really anything that I know of the whole Philippines supposedly being by just one monarch but what I do know is that the kind that started was kind of like just how it is now, i.e., a president of some sort). Even if you say that Kuwait is a rich country, isn't it supposedly because of being able to utilize their country's resources, and them having a high amount of oil fields? And, well, to name some countries, isn't it that quite a number of middle eastern countries have absolute monarchies? Well, let us remember that a few of these middle eastern countries are having some problems recently. Anyway, the Queen is also kind of a monarch not just in that England or Britain, but actually for about ten to twenty countries, and that includes Canada, New Zealand, and to actually just say so in the most convenient way, basically those countries with supposedly British descent or something along those lines, and you can kind of notice this as most of the members have a distinct accent (not that it cannot be copied, but it is kind of characteristic as not everyone uses a kind of British accent since it is quite too fast and sometimes unclear).
ReplyDeleteAlthough I hate our current form of government right now, which is the democratic type, I'd have more grudges against them if we would be adapting the monarchy system.
ReplyDeleteFilipinos couldn't stand to be led by a single bloodline. They still believe that we should be given the freedom to choose who to vote for. The flaw here is that they do not know who to rightfully vote.
We have made accomplishments through the democratic and dictatorial forms of government and I guess we should just stick with these. It would be hard to change traditions and persuade people into supporting a new way of leading them.
There are a couple of countries that I know which follow the monarchy system. Some are : Bahrain, Cambodia, Denmark, Kuwait, United Kingdom, Malaysia, Thailand, Spain, Japan, and the Netherlands.
The Philippines would be having a bad time if it would be having a similar setup of "Kings and Queens" monarchy , since having a monarchy would give birth to royalties , royalties who does not understand the concept of what human resources go through.
ReplyDeleteIt is a given fact that the human race needs to submit themselves to some sort of a leader , but embracing monarchy is not just the best way to compensate the problems of our beloved country.
The number of countries that embraced the concept of monarchy is too damn high. Some countries are : Malaysia , Japan , Canada , United Kingdom ,Sweden , Vatican City...
I think it will be better if our country stays as a democratic one. If we'll adapt the monarchy system, we might encounter more problems than we have right now. What if the next king doesn't have the knowledge to rule this country? It will still be better if we get to choose our own leaders. Some countries following the monarchy system are Malaysia,Thailand, Bahrain,Denmark and Cambodia.
ReplyDeletewe are different people. We cannot live with that kind of government because we, Filipinos look for equality. We want to rule a person that who really deserves the position and will do all the duties. WE don't want anybody to control us like what happened in Martial Law... It is evident in Martial Law , that kind of government will not suit our country.
ReplyDeleteThe countries that have monarchy are : United Kingdom, Kuwait, Morocco, and Bhutan
Obviously, the Philippines is not ready for this kind of stuff. Our government system is not that easy to change. Well, the Philippines may have a chance for this king of system if ever since from the very start, we have done this monarchy system, but having a sudden change, I don't think that the Philippines wouldn't stand a chance in working that out.
ReplyDeleteThe Philippines has long been living under political perversions. We have long been transgressing, so why should we even think of running this nation under a Monarchy type of government? Do You Think It Would Lessen The Malfeasance In This Ill Society? Think again, and again and again if you think so.
ReplyDeleteA MONARCHICAL PHILIPPINES WOULD BE THE BIGGEST TRAVESTY OF HISTORY. I mean, seriously? Monarchy, or perhaps complete and legal political dynasty in THIS COUNTRY? This is something to laugh at, as for me. Haven't the people seen how corruptions (though inevitable) are continuously being done? Corruptions, by nature, is a concealed act and I firmly believe that it would be more prolific in a monarchical nation because I've been aware of the Filipino's ill-willed and entropy-driven minds since I was 10.
Let's stick with this Democratic Republic type of government because despite all the negativity, we have still managed to build and rebuild this country with the aid of the voices of people. One superpower is too many. Collectivism is better than Individualism.
I don't think that having a similar setup of "Kings & Queens" monarchy would make our country better. Monarchy is a form of government in which there's an absolute sovereignty by a single person. It's way more different than the democratic type where the people have the power in choosing their leaders. It would just make things more complicated. Brunei, Bahrain, Kuwait and Qatar are some of the countries with the Monarchy system.
ReplyDeleteI dont think that Philippines is ready for this kind of set up. We are a democratic country but we are all having difficulties to socialize, so what if there is someone who will introduce this kind of set up, isn't that it will be more difficult for us to adapt?
ReplyDeleteUnited Kingdom and Bhutan still having monarchy as a kind of government system. Freedom and Equality are what we, Filipinos value the most. Having that kind of set-up will not be applicable in the Philippines. Also, we are considering the fact that it's not the family line that carries someone but how he/she proved to us , Filipinos that she/he can rule and make progress in his/her premise. It's all about responsibility and heart to serve the Filipinos.
ReplyDeleteI don't think that Filipinos can adapt easily if we are going to follow the monarchy system and for me it is better to have a democratic country as what we have right now because we have the freedom that everyone of us wanted. Contries having the monarchy systems that I know is Bhutan, Greece and Egypt.
ReplyDeleteMonarchy (Kings and Queens) is not good for the Philippines. Why? Because, we are under democracy for no less than 20 years. Do you think that a change in government would be that fast? A democratic country has 3 branches, the executive, the legislative and the judiciary. Before changing the type of government, we have to reconsider these different things.
ReplyDeleteI don't really think it is a great idea. Can't you see our society, people? We are already drowned by politicians-will-never-understand-us problems. And adapting the monarchy system isn't the right solution. It will build up a huge wall between the government and the people. And the more the people would shout about the economic problems. I mean, we can already say that some people (now) hates the government for they are not approachable, what more if the system of DIVIDING would be adapted?
ReplyDeleteI think the Philippines would be better staying as a democratic country rather than changing into the monarchy system. Although I d not find the democratic system that much effective I think having a monarchy will stir things up even more. I could just imagine the rage of the people if a wrong decision was made by our assigned ruler. Our system may not be perfect but it still gives us freedom to choose the proper and most up to par for the role of the president of the Philippines. Countries like Cambodia, Denmark, Spain and Thailand have a monarchy system.
ReplyDeleteA monarchy is a form of government in which sovereignty is actually or nominally embodied in a single individual.
ReplyDeleteWe, Filipinos, are lover of freedom, equality and peace so I think Monarchy is not a good form of government to adapt and apply here in the Philippines. I think we will have a hard time adapting and following the set-up of a monarchy system because we were used in a democratic form of government. I also think that Democracy is still the best for our country because we have our freedom of expression and somehow equality. :)))))
I don't think that Philippines would be better if we have the "kings & queens" monarchy. Some of the countries are: Vatican City, Swaziland and Saudi Arabia.
ReplyDeleteWhatever the government in the Philippines is, I only see it as a wreck. Besides, there are too many things to change before we completely change our whole government system. Some countries with Monarchy systems are Japan, Qatar and the UK.
ReplyDeleteI don't think the Philippines would be better if there is a king and a queen. I can't imagine it either. A royal family is not suited to belong to the type of society we have. Considering that idea, who would you think will be the royal family? Our country is not like Luxembourg, Denmark, Belgium or any other country with monarchy as a type of their system of government.
ReplyDeleteI am happy but not contented with what we have in our government but it is better than having King and Queen in the Philippines. I can't imagine it.
ReplyDeletePeople from France, Spain, Malaysia, Thailand and other countries which are led by monarchy are not the same with the people from Philippines. We, as Filipinos, lived democratically wherein we decide for ourselves, basically. We always demand equality among our fellow countrymen. Culturally speaking, we are not used, or not ready for a monarchy system.
ReplyDeletePhilippines is different from London. So I don't think that it will be nice for the Philippines to have "King and Queen". We are in a democratic country then why will we need to be under a monarchy type of government? I think it wouldn't be successful if it will happen. Let's just be contented in having democracy. We're more comfortable with that. Because it's a free country, you can do what you want! :)
ReplyDeleteI don't think Philippines would be better with this kind of system. I'm satisfied with the democratic government we have. All we need is discipline.
ReplyDeleteSome countries with monarchy system are UK, Belgium and Qatar.
As for me I'm contented with our country being democratic we don't need to imitate them just because it really sounds great "King and Queen Monarchy" in the Philippines. Because for me being democratic we have our freedom to express our thoughts, choices and especially leadership, and I think that what matters most freedom. Countries having this kind of government system are New Zealand, Egypt, Germany, Russia and many more.
ReplyDeleteIt will surely be a bad and weird experience having a monarchy in the Philippines. Having a monarchy is synonymous to having a dynasty. And Philippines hates dynasties.
ReplyDeleteSome European countries have the same political system, I think.
You hear a filipino saying Queen Gloria or King Noynoy, :) very ridiculous, "hindi bagay". Changing the form of government would just make everything messed up. Democracy is equality, its about the people. Monarchy is totalitarianism. According to Plato, democracy is more suited in countries like us. Why change government? We still cant fix as of now, all the illegal matters in the government, and i say turning to monarchy would just worsen it all.
ReplyDeleteI never thought of Philippines as a country with monarchy as it's gov't especially with the fact that most Filipinos don't want to be constrained to one power anymore. Lots of countries in Europe though still observe this system.
ReplyDeletePhilippines would be better if it remains the same. I am contented of what kind of government we have. I think that democratic government is better for we are the ones who choose our leaders. Besides, we can also prevent having dynasties in this situation.
ReplyDeleteCountries like Belgium, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Cambodia have Monarchy as their form of government.
We all know that Philippines never had the capability of handling such big responsibilities like this. I dont think that it would be better having a Monarchy system. Be contented on what we have now. In democracy, people has the right to choose who will be their leader, we have freedom in expressing our thought and there are sectors of the government that can help our country to develop.
ReplyDeleteSuch European countries like Germany and Russia are countries that has a Monarchy System.
I don't think that Philippines would be better if we imitate the "Kings and Queens" monarchy, because who would inherit the governance to our country? Isn't it that as long as their bloodline is flowing, they are the one ruling? What if there's a better leader than them? Philippines is better off without this kind of monarchy, we've been through a lot but it never came into our minds that we should change our system into this kind of monarchy. Some examples of this kind of monarchy are Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UK and Japan.
ReplyDeleteIt may be nice to have a king or a queen but having this kind of government system is not a good idea for the country. This doesn't change anything in the society. Maybe it can change a little but this is more about family. Empowering their wealth and their power. I think democracy or dictatorial will be a much better kind of government than this. It really looks fancy or even sounds fancy but we should be more concern on the political and economical side of a country. But, as we can see such countries with this kind of government have a great economy like UK, Bhutan, Qatar, etc.
ReplyDeleteFot me, is will not help our country to be a better one. First of all it will be hard for us to cope up with the change in the form of government, second, it will be just another opportunity for those who seek power and wealth only for themselvesw, and last, for sure, it will result to corruption.
ReplyDeleteWe should stick to our democratic government. It is just a waste of time to argue about this.We should not focus our attention in this kind of issue, Philippines has a lot of more serious issues to tackle and we should not waste again our time , i repeat. Democracy is better because "YOU CAN DO WHAT YOU WANT ,IT'S A FREE COUNTRY" hahaha.
ReplyDelete"Kings and Queens"? uh.. no way. I don't see Philippines having a monarchy type of government. It seems inappropriate. I'd still prefer a free country. you see, democracy is not the problem. the problem is in the people themselves. It's in the discipline of people. We should be wise enough especially when it comes to making decisions. We should be disciplined enough to make our country better.
ReplyDeleteThe idea of being ruled by a queen or a king is not that half bad but do you think it's applicable here? a BIG no is the answer. People might not easily adapt with this change whatsoever, people we're not ready for this kind of governmetn system. It would be best for us to stay like this for another century or so..
ReplyDeleteBeing the best country does not base it's credibility according to it's leader's classification nor the type of government it is a matter of how a good leader influences his fellow men by his excellence and how his people surrender their trust and faith in their leader's capabilities. Being the best country is all about the cooperation and unity of the country and it's people.
ReplyDeleteI think it would be better if the Philippines stayed with its Democratic System. I just know that we cannot change a political setup that has been long accustomed just like that. This might even result to anarchy in the country.
ReplyDeleteOther countries adapting the Monarchy setup includes: New Zealand, Brunei, Norway, Spain, Sweden and Thailand.
I think it would not be better if Philippines had a British Monarchy like government because it would just ruin the way of governing the country. It would be better if it stayed in its Democratic system. Furthermore if we acquired that kind of system where do the Kings and Queens will live? We do not have a very large space like that of Buckingham Palace. Other countries may have adapted this kind of system for their governing to be better but for me the Philippines would be better in its Democratic system. BETTER LATE THAN NEVER!!!
