There's this great museum that you can find in Los Banos, Laguna and its located at the premises of the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI). They call it the RiceWorld Museum and Learning Center where it showcases everything about rice, rice and rice.
I was at IRRI for two days attending an event sponsored by them and a Telecoms company (SMART), and had the opportunity to wander around their impressive museum. The collection of old equipment and tools that can be found at the museum were fascinating and quite a historical experience.
According to the IRRI website, the the International NGO helps reduce global poverty and hunger by helping farmers grow more rice and keep people & the environment healthy. Aside from the museum, the IRRI also has a library that maintains a collection of more than 100000 items dealing with the production and distribution of rice.
The museum is a very good source of a lot of educational information about rice and the technology that has been used in relation to planting, breeding, maintaining or caring for, processing and up to the harvesting and selling worldwide. We can also see many of the sample outputs of rice products at the museum.

The institute is one of 15 agricultural research centers around the world that form the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR). It is Asia's largest non-profit agricultural research center.
There is these huge area at IRRI compound where they have different rice breeds planted as part of their research. I hope they help really the country in its rice requirements and to produce quality and healthy rice being the Philippines staple food.

IRRI's mission is to reduce poverty and hunger, improve the health of rice farmers and consumers, and ensure that rice production is environmentally sustainable. It works closely with most rice-producing and -consuming countries and their national agricultural research and extension systems as well as farming communities and a range of international, regional, and local organizations.
In partnership with these national systems, IRRI conducts research and provides training and education for those helping rice farmers by disseminating information and proven, sustainable technologies.
