The BAGA Manila Grill and BBQ Festival is located at the grounds of the A. Venue Mall in Makati.
The Barbecuers and Grillers Association (BAGA) Manila’s 1st Anniversary Celebration was held last November 16 at A. Venue in Makati City. There were a lot of Grill & BBQ comparisons and discoveries made possible by this very successful event – Pork BBQ on Skewer, Pork Belly, Pork Baby Back Ribs, Chicken Inasal, Kebabs and Sates. Several bloggers agreed to promote the BAGA Manila 1st Anniversary Grill and BBQ Festival 2012 event to help the Filipino micro-entrepreneurs who participated to get the much needed publicity.
Below are pictures of the many participating food entrepreneurs. I felt it would be better if I just show them to you rather than talk about it.
Live Band performances entertained the customers as they chew on the barbecued and grilled delicacies. Though the bands were not the mainstream artists, they did play well and the audience liked them. Some of the bands were even so young like still studying in college.
The venue also offered plenty of drink choices (“gulaman” , softdrinks, buko juice, juices, etc.) and options for dessert (cakes and pastries, “bibingka” or rice cake, etc.)
The organizers also facilitated some eating competitions like the 36 inches Kebab Eating competition where three teams composed of three individuals compete with each other to be the first to finish eating the kebab the fastest time possible.
Fortunately, the team who won were part of
our group of bloggers, and they were awarded with one BAGA Manila shirt
each as their prize for winning the kebab eating contest. They were even
interviewed by GMA TV and was featured in the Saksi News program. I
heard they also had a barbecue eating contest which was also equally
long, but that time it was only composed of two persons per team. Too
bad we already left BAGA Manila because we had to attend another event
that night.
There are indeed several entrepreneurs, especially in the food business,
who just need the exposure and the opportunity to get known by
prospective customers to enable their brands to get recognized and
appreciated by the consuming public. We should support our small-scale
Filipino entrepreneurs so they could have the chance to get big in the
food industry.
